About The Glebe Pre-School:
The Glebe Pre-School has been established for more than 40 years in Stapenhill, Burton-Upon-Trent and caters for children between the ages of 2½ and 5. It holds a charity status and is run by an enthusiastic management committee made up of volunteers including parents of children attending the pre-school. The pre-school is registered with OFSTED (Office For Standards in Education) and all staff are qualified to the relevant level and have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. We are also members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. Our aims are to provide as many opportunities as possible for the children to learn through play in a safe environment, developing skills which will give them the best start in life. We also aim to support parents/carers as your child takes their first steps towards independence. Sometimes it can be a more difficult time for parents than for the children!
Children can attend the pre-school when they reach 2½ years old. Sessions run from 9.15 – 11.45 Monday – Friday. You can choose how many sessions you want your child to do. Most parents begin with 2 and gradually move up to 5. Parents/Carers are welcome to come up and settle their children for as long as they feel it is needed.
We also provide a lunch club where children can stay for an extra hour, ringing a packed luch with them. Lunch Club are available on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 12.15pm – 1.15pm. Children eat alongside the staff and take part in more supervised activities.
Several times a year parent consultations are held where a child's progress is discussed with the child's key-worker. Parents/Carers are welcome at any time to come in and discuss any particular issues with the key-worker.
